Halo 5 is a first-person shooter video game developed by 343 Industries and published by Microsoft Studios. It's the first game in Microsoft's beloved sci-fi shooter series that's been built specifically for the Xbox One.
About Halo 5: Guardians
Part of the Halo franchise, this is the second original Halo to come out of 343 Industries instead of Bungie. The first, Halo 4, came out on Xbox 360 on November 6th, 2012. Halo 5: Guardians is a Halo game as the second chapter in the John-117 storyline of the Reclaimer Saga and the sequel to Halo 4. - Halo 5 will feature a brand-new community system called Spartan Companies, which will allow for up to 100 players to more easily connect with friends and like-minded players.
- Halo 5 offers a twisting storyline starring both longtime protagonist Master Chief and newcomer Spartan Locke.
- All of Halo 5's upcoming downloadable multiplayer maps will be totally free.
- It's very unlikely you'll die unless you're playing on Heroic or harder, and that changes the feel of the game significantly.
- The game brings four-player co-op back to Halo. When playing solo, you can issue orders to your teammates, and, for the first time in the series, can revive your pals when they've fallen in battle.
Halo 5 Vs. Destiny
The two are plenty similar, especially when it comes to naming conventions (plenty of Guardians, Osiris, etc.) but Halo still has the richer story. Destiny has changed the way we think about shooters.- Destiny's guns have real impact. When you shoot an enemy, you feel the shot connect. Halo 5′s shooting feels kind of floaty by comparison.
- While I never really noticed it before, the HUD in Halo is really distracting. I prefer the minimalism in Destiny.
- In Destiny, weapons really matter. You don't simply discard a gun when you run out of ammo and grab a new one. Sometimes you gain a real emotional attachment to your weapons. Halo 5's weapons are disposable.
- Halo 5's campaign is fully co-op, which is sort of weird. Even in Destiny, outside of strikes, I can play solo.
- Destiny mixes multiplayer and single-player seamlessly, and since you're always trying to improve your character there’s a real sense of ownership, right down to the tremendous amount of customization options. Halo 5 isn't the only game to fall behind in this measure. Something like Star Wars: Battlefront or Titanfall also miss out since you don't really have this blending of solo and multiplayer content or this notion that your characters actually matter.
